The activity is being implemented from May 26 to May 29, 2026, at the Central Outpatient Department, the Department of Endocrinology and Respiratory Medicine, the Department of Pulmonary Diseases, and the International General Internal Medicine Department, in observance of World No Tobacco Day (May 31) and National No Tobacco Week 2026.
Through direct consultation, patients and their family members can discuss tobacco use habits, the level of nicotine dependence, challenges faced during the quitting process, and appropriate support strategies tailored to each specific case with healthcare staff.
At consultation sites, medical professionals have integrated information on tobacco harm prevention into the processes of medical examinations, counseling, and health education. This approach helps the public better understand the benefits of quitting smoking while encouraging smokers to proactively change their behavior to protect both their own health and that of those around them.
Through direct counseling sessions at the hospital, the message of healthy, smoke-free living is conveyed in a more personal manner, helping to encourage patients, their families, and the community to proactively change their behaviors for long-term health protection.
This is a practical initiative by Hue Central Hospital aimed at bringing tobacco harm prevention and control efforts closer to patients and the community, thereby continuing to build a safe, civilized, friendly, and smoke-free healthcare environment.
